How ONLINE Education Solutions differs
Online education! What do you mean by online education? There are many buzzwords in market now days like ELearning, Online Learning, Online Teaching, Virtual Classroom, Web-based Teaching, Webinar and many more. All these buzzwords should be used based on the solution educators or learner are using for education. Here we will try to focus on these buzzword and how the solution works.
For different age groups and based on different use cases we should use different solutions. We cannot use one solution across all age group or for all the use cases. Here multiple users can watch the same video at a time but they cannot communicate with each other online. The only advantage is they can watch these videos anytime, from anywhere and from any devices like laptop, Tab, Mobile with Internet connectivity. This type of learning are more suitable to upgrade the Skills like professionals who knows basics and wants to upgrade themselves. In this also few are providing Faculties Videos and few are providing Visual content for users.
Second scenario is ELearning, ELearning is nothing but an electronic form of Traditional learning. In this all the Books or educational Content is transformed to Electronics form like PDF, PPT, Word, Videos…etc. The advantage with it is you don’t have to carry physical copies and you can keep all electronic files on cloud, email, mobile, laptop, pendrive….Now days educational content have been developed in graphical view. The content is used by all age categories in different formats and opened in different devices like Mobile, TAB, Laptop, TV. These contents is useful for teachers as a supporting while explaining concepts or teaching.
Online Learning and Online Teaching are two different solutions. Some people have confusion between these two words. Online Learning is learning done by students/ Professionals or any end user by watching Videos (Free/Paid). In this Online Learning Host/ Faculties or Experts record their videos and upload on Learning Management system or on YouTube Channels. End Users can subscribes these Videos and learn the Topic/Subject on Self-Pace and from anywhere. In Online Learning few LMS have the options of asking the queries or clarification which is answered by experts (not real-time). This option is more suitable for that end-users who wants to upgrade the skills and having basic understanding of topic which they want to learn online and for higher education students, professionals and Kids also with Parental assistance.
Another buzzword is Online Teaching or Web based Teaching, in this commonly Video Conferencing software has been used by teachers/ Faculties/ Experts to deliver lectures. Few higher management institutes use online teaching for teaching PG courses or Skill upgrade courses. Few private tutors or Personal educational experts to teach many types of courses in one to one manner. In Online Teaching the Video Conferencing Software used have many limitations, these software’s are developed and designed based on the meeting requirements. End user should not be able to see the body-language of host who is delivering the lectures. These and many such limitations are there in online teaching which leads to poor lecture delivery and less beneficial for end users. These are live sessions but partially interactive sessions. All these sessions can be recorded and make available to end users after every session.
